Mount Pleasant Cheer Up Hut

During May 2016 the Mount Pleasant District Historical Research Group hosted the Mount Pleasant Cheer Up Hut, an exhibition of memorabilia, including a replica trench with photos and artefacts, 'Braves of the Brave' travelling exhibition, information regarding the soldiers and nurses from the district who served during World War 1, participation of animals during the war and much, much more. We hosted successful Devonshire tea each week, and during the month held a 'Salute to Ye Olde Maye Fayre' which was originally a fundraiser for the Cheer Up Hut during 1916.
